AviaPro Consulting is delighted to welcome Steve Duley as the newest member of our team, taking up the role of Sales Consultant for the African market. Steve's vast experience and extensive network within the African aviation industry make him a valuable asset to our company, and we are eager to witness the positive impact he will undoubtedly bring to our organization and clients.
His distinguished career history includes serving as Sales Director for sub-Sahara Africa at Sabre Corporation and as Sales Director for SITA in Southern Africa. Steve’s expertise is unparalleled in the aviation industry. During his tenure with Sabre, Steve played a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, fostering key growth in the company's African operations. Likewise, his time at SITA saw him successfully cultivating and expanding the airline and airport business in the region, demonstrating his remarkable leadership and sales acumen in action.
And yet, Steve Duley's accomplishments in the aviation industry extend far beyond his roles with these prominent organizations. His track record of managing high-tech aerospace programs, driving the growth of a thriving aircraft maintenance organization, and playing an instrumental role in establishing and managing the information and communication technologies, or ICT, environment for the first low-cost airline in South Africa speaks for itself. An exemplary high achiever, Steve has consistently overshot his sales targets, expertly negotiated major contracts, and developed a vast and influential network within the aviation sector.
"We are thrilled to have Steve Duley join AviaPro Consulting as our Sales Consultant for the African market," says AviaPro’s Head of Aviation Consulting, Kevin Clarke. "His proven expertise in navigating the complexities of the African aviation landscape and his strong leadership skills make him the perfect fit for our company as we continue to expand our presence in the region."
When asked about his most significant motivation in joining the company, Steve shared that, "I am most excited about the opportunity to work with a team of talented and dedicated individuals who are passionate about the aviation industry. I am also excited about the challenge of helping AviaPro establish a stronger footing in the African market."
When outlining his goals for the first year in his new position, Steve emphasized several key objectives. These include developing and executing a robust sales strategy to propel AviaPro's growth in Africa, cultivating vital relationships with key decision-makers in the African aviation industry, identifying and closing new business opportunities, and contributing to the company's overall success.
Furthermore, Steve offered valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities he sees on the horizon for the African aviation industry. He pinpointed inadequate infrastructure, high air travel costs, and governmental interference as some of the most pressing challenges. However, Steve is optimistic about the future of the industry, citing a growing middle class and increasing disposable income as key drivers of demand for air travel in Africa.
Regarding the opportunities for AviaPro in Africa, Steve noted the company's expertise in both the airline and airport domains as advantageous in expanding its presence. He emphasized AviaPro's ability to leverage its independent status and attract the right talents to capitalize on forthcoming opportunities in the market.
